Who supplies the RF Absorber Foams?

The high-performance RF absorber foams are radar-absorbent materials supplied by C&T RF Antennas Inc., used for microwave absorber anechoic chambers, etc.

RF Absorber Foam materials play a crucial role by minimizing radar wave reflection, thus reducing object radar signatures. RF Absorbers work by allowing the wave to penetrate a region where the electric and/or magnetic fields experience loss.

Besides the High-Performance RF Absorber Foams, Pyramidal Radiation-absorbent Materials are also available at C&T RF Antennas Inc.

What are RF Absorber Foams?

Main components of RF absorber foam materials: foam (polyurethane), carbon black powder, graphite powder, etc.

Applications: shielding enclosures, anechoic chambers, and EMC shielded rooms.

Function: Absorbs and shields electromagnetic waves, electronic communications, and various types of noise.

Pyramidal Radiation-absorbent Material Description:

Introduction to Flat RF Absorber Sheet Materials

RF absorber foam materials are solid foam absorbers that exhibit excellent broadband absorption performance under both perpendicular and oblique electromagnetic wave incidence. They are widely used in various applications, including microwave anechoic chambers, radar compartments, the interiors of antenna systems, turntables, and test stands, to shield the inner walls of test chambers, improve antenna performance, and eliminate unnecessary reflective interference.

RF absorber foam materials are cut from polyurethane foam using computer-controlled contour cutting machines, resulting in an aesthetically pleasing structure, precise dimensions, and no dust shedding or moisture-induced discoloration.

RF absorber foam materials are available in a complete range of specifications to meet the requirements of different types of anechoic chambers and test chambers. Special materials are also available for specific areas such as corners, ventilation openings, and lighting fixtures to address unique application needs.

The flame-retardant performance of flat-panel absorbers meets the national Class B2 material standard, with an oxygen index of ≥28%, satisfying the requirements of the NRL8093 test standard.

RF absorber foams are manufactured using specially designed production equipment and strict process controls to ensure product consistency, stability, and reliability, thereby guaranteeing the performance requirements of the entire anechoic chamber.

Characteristics of RF Absorber Foams

※ Appearance

Flat-panel shape, typically light blue, but other colors are available upon request. Neat, aesthetically pleasing, and clean in appearance; flexible and bendable. Operating temperature range: -50°C to 90°C; short-term temperature range: -100°C to 120°C. All raw materials comply with environmental protection requirements. The primary chemical components are non-toxic. The product utilizes an advanced formulation of inorganic flame retardants that are non-volatile, odorless, and non-toxic, with stable flame-retardant performance that does not degrade over long-term use.

※ Safety

Oxygen index: 36.6%, GB/T 2406-93 (Test reports from the National Quality Supervision and Inspection Center for Fire-Resistant Building Materials are available)
Flame-retardant rating: Class B2, GB 8624-1997 (compliant with U.S. Navy NRL 8093 test standards) meets the requirements of U.S. Navy Laboratory Report NRL 8093 (1977) for voltage resistance, Test II (flame ignition and spread), and Test III (self-ignition).

It features a high oxygen index, has passed fire simulation tests, and provides long-lasting flame-retardant performance. Power density: 0.8 kW/m², 1.0 kW/m² for short durations.

※ Environmental friendliness

Flat-sheet absorptive foam exhibits excellent environmental performance. All raw materials comply with environmental requirements, and the primary chemical components are non-toxic. Additionally, it utilizes inorganic flame retardants formulated with advanced technology, which are non-volatile, odorless, and non-toxic. The flame-retardant performance remains stable and does not degrade over long-term use.

High-Performance RF Absorber Foams Notes

High-performance RF absorber foams are for indoor use only; not suitable for outdoor use.

RF absorber sheets are solid foam absorbers that offer excellent broadband absorption performance under both perpendicular and oblique electromagnetic wave incidence, and are widely used in various microwave anechoic chambers.

RF absorbers are manufactured using computer-controlled contour cutting machines to cut polyurethane foam into angular cones, resulting in an aesthetically pleasing structure, precise dimensions, and no dust shedding or discoloration due to moisture absorption.

A comprehensive range of product specifications is available to meet the requirements of different types of anechoic chambers and shielded enclosures. Specialized RF absorber foam materials are also available for specific areas such as corners, ventilation openings, and lighting fixtures to address unique application needs.

The flame-retardant performance of RF absorber foams meets the national Class B2 material standard, with an oxygen index of ≥28%, satisfying the requirements of the NRL8093 test standard.

RF absorber foams utilize specially designed and manufactured production equipment, and strict process controls ensure consistent, stable, and reliable product performance, thereby guaranteeing the performance requirements of the entire anechoic chamber.

How to install the RF absorber foams?

Installation Instructions for RF Absorber Foams

RF absorber foams are very flexible and easy to cut, making them extremely convenient to install; Simply attach them using all-purpose adhesive. The installation process produces no toxic or harmful gases or dust, effectively ensuring a safe working environment in the anechoic chamber. The panels are ready for use shortly after installation is complete.
