WiFi & GPS Antennas
What are WiFi & GPS antennas?
WiFi & GPS Dual Band Antenna is an antenna that integrates both WiFi and GPS functions, and is able to simultaneously support the reception and transmission of signals in these two frequency bands, 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz (WiFi), as well as L1 and L5 bands (GPS).
WiFi & GPS antennas offer versatility, space saving and performance optimisation, and are widely used in a variety of devices that need to support both WLAN and GPS at the same time.
WiFi & GPS antenna technology principle
The principle of dual-band antenna is based on the different frequencies of electromagnetic waves. 2.4 GHz band WiFi signals cover a wide range but are prone to interference, while 5GHz band WiFi signals are fast but cover a smaller range.
Dual-frequency reception of GPS makes use of two frequency bands, L1 and L5, with the L1 band used for fast positioning and the L5 band providing higher accuracy and anti-jamming capability.
The L1 band is used for fast positioning and the L5 band provides higher accuracy and anti-interference capability.
WiFi & GPS antenna working frequency bands
The 2.4 GHz band has a higher propagation capacity and provides longer coverage, but is susceptible to interference from other wireless devices, such as microwave ovens and Bluetooth devices.
The 5 GHz (or 5.8 GHz) band has a weaker propagation capability and a relatively small coverage area, but the data transmission speed is faster and there is less interference.
The L1 band is the main frequency band for GPS signals, providing high signal strength and reliability.
L2 band is usually used to improve positioning accuracy and eliminate ionospheric errors.
L5 band is a new generation of GPS signal band with higher power and bandwidth, which can improve the accuracy and reliability of positioning.
Advantages of WiFi & GPS antennas
Versatility
WiFi & GPS dual-band antenna integrates two functions to meet the needs of WLAN and GPS at the same time.
Space saving
The use of dual-band antennas reduces the number of antennas in a device, thus saving space and reducing manufacturing costs.
Performance optimisation
By optimising the antenna design, the performance of WiFi and GPS can be improved at the same time, such as increasing the coverage area and improving the data transmission speed.
WiFi & GPS antenna applications
WiFi & GPS dual-band antennas are widely used in devices that need to support WLAN and GPS at the same time, such as smart phones, tablet PCs, car navigation systems, etc. These devices usually need to be used in different environments. These devices usually need to work in different environments and need to provide high-speed network connection and accurate navigation information at the same time.
