However, as the frequency band is gradually increased, its signal coverage will become smaller and smaller, and the solution is to build more base stations. In addition, in 2015, the FCC launched CBRSD (Public Wireless Broadband Service) in the 3.5 GHz band to dynamically manage different types of wireless traffic through a centralized spectrum access database system to improve spectrum efficiency.

 

Members of the Rosenworcel said that CBRS is highly creative, efficient and forward-looking, and in the future, a smarter, more distributed and dynamic spectrum sharing access technology, namely blockchain + dynamic spectrum sharing, can be realized.

 

The blockchain is a distributed database that can be updated securely without the central intermediary. In the future, the use of blockchain as a low-cost alternative to dynamic spectrum sharing technology can be explored, which not only reduces the management cost of dynamic spectrum access systems but also improves spectrum efficiency. It is also possible to further increase the access level and access to users. He pointed out that the use of decentralized distributed ledgers to record various wireless access information can further stimulate new technological innovations and even change the way the wireless spectrum is used in the future.
