Indoor TV Antenna Ultra-Thin HDTV Antenna

Alignment of the indoor antenna is very important: You’ll notice that if you put the indoor antenna in the wrong orientation, you won’t succeed in picking up any stations. It might even make a difference if you align the antenna vertically instead of horizontally. It is a process of trial and error until you find the right spot.

Alignment of the indoor antenna is very important: You’ll notice that if you put the indoor antenna in the wrong orientation, you won’t succeed in picking up any stations. It might even make a difference if you align the antenna vertically instead of horizontally. It is a process of trial and error until you find the right spot.

Installing an indoor HDTV antenna: With the lightweight, indoor antennas, the antenna can be attached with some adhesive strips. The antenna will come with a coaxial cable, which you screw on to the back of your TV set. You will probably want to add the signal booster as well. The whole installation takes just a few minutes.

Installing an outdoor HDTV antenna: Installing an outdoor antenna is somewhat more challenging.

You will have to fasten a mast along the wall of the house, to which you attach the antenna. This mast shouldn’t be too high--there are no legal restrictions as long as the antenna is less than 12 feet above the roof.

You will have to consider where the antenna cable will enter your home. The best option is to run the cable through an unused cable TV conduit going into your house.

There should be a rubber weather boot or sleeve that protects the cable connection to the antenna so that precipitation or sunlight won’t damage it.

A roof antenna must also be properly grounded, to protect from lightning strikes.

Direction: As we mentioned, the orientation of the antenna will make a big difference. But there are also omnidirectional antennas, which receive TV signals from all directions equally. That should make it easier to install since you don’t have to worry about orienting the antenna in a particular way.

Gain: The gain of an antenna is a measure of its efficiency. It’s the amount that the antenna boosts the signal, converting the signal into an electrical current. Numerically, it’s the amount that the antenna amplifies the signal coming in, times the directivity (= how much the antenna accepts signals in one direction over another).  The gain of the C&T indoor antenna is around 25-32 dBi for VHF signals, and 32-36 dBi for UHF channels.

Notice:

1. This Antenna could catch 50 miles range. Make sure your house is within the broadcast range from the nearest station.

2. Check antenna correctly connected to your HDTV or third-party HD receiver.

3. Keep the TV antenna away from disturbance source, big electrical appliances, such as air conditioner, refrigerator, and microwave oven, etc.

4. Remember to re-scan for TV channels after moving the TV antenna, sometimes moving a few feet can make a difference.

5. Reposition the antenna in a different location, such as higher on a wall or closer to a window. Be sure to position the antenna horizontally.

6. If a signal cannot be received with the external amplifier, please remove the amplifier and try again.

7. Before purchasing, please check your local channel availability at http://dtvgovmaps.com/
