This is a high-performance dual-band Omni MIMO antenna which combines high gain with a 360° beam-width. Its dual-band design makes it suitable for applications in the 2.4GHz (2400-2500 MHz) and 5 GHz (5150-5800 MHz) band which and eliminates the need to purchase different antennas for each frequency. This simplifies installations since the same antenna can be used for a wide array of wireless applications. This antenna is ideal for use with the following applications:

These C&T RF Antennas Inc's MIMO antennas are omnidirectional, operating at both the 2.4 GHz and the 5 GHz
bands. They are designed to support access points offering 802.11n, ac coverage. The antennas are suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations and include mounting hardware for wall/mast or ceiling mount applications, depending on the model.

In radio, multiple-input and multiple-output, or MIMO is a method for multiplying the capacity of a radio link using multiple transmission and receiving antennas to exploit multipath propagation. MIMO has become an essential element of wireless communication standards including IEEE 802.11n (Wi-Fi), IEEE 802.11ac (Wi-Fi), HSPA+ (3G), WiMAX (4G), and Long Term Evolution (4G LTE). More recently, MIMO has been applied to power-line communication for 3-wire installations as part of ITU G.hn standard and HomePlug AV2 specification.


At one time, in wireless, the term "MIMO" referred to the use of multiple antennas at the transmitter and the receiver. In modern usage, "MIMO" specifically refers to a practical technique for sending and receiving more than one data signal simultaneously over the same radio channel by exploiting multipath propagation. MIMO is fundamentally different from smart antenna techniques developed to enhance the performance of a single data signal, such as beamforming and diversity.


How does a MIMO antenna work?
In MIMO systems, a transmitter sends multiple streams by multiple transmit antennas. The transmit streams go through a matrix channel which consists of all paths between the transmit antennas at the transmitter and receive antennas at the receiver.
