Directional or Omnidirectional?
The most antenna can be categorized as either directional or omnidirectional. Omnidirectional antennas receive and transmit at a 360 degrees radius, radiating powder uniformly in all directions on one plane. This type of the antenna is usually pole-shaped and situated on a metal plane (car roof, for example,) which acts as the bottom half of the dipole. They are commonly used for GPS applications, vehicles, and emergency radio and have a higher gain in horizontal directions.

Directional antennas primarily receive and transmit energy in one direction. The most common type of directional antenna is the Yagi- it’s usually used as a TV aerial and promotes energy in one direction, using multiple prongs to encourage overall gain. Directional antennas are good for home/business use as you can tune the system for optimal coverage. With a directional antenna, the more focused the energy (the smaller the percentage of 360 degrees that the signal radiates,) the larger it’s the reachable distance.

RF antennas are divided into two categories: directional antennas and omnidirectional antennas. Directional antennas include in-ceiling dome RF antennas, Yagi antennas, passive GPS and active GPS antennas, fixed and panel antennas. With Class A surface level, mechanized, the high degree of automation, suitable for products with high surface quality requirements, large output, and uniform thickness.

The most important task in the use of SMC for the manufacture of antennas is to fully exploit their features and achieve the high precision of antennas from product design and process fabrication. Under the condition that the shrinkage rate of the material and the SMC molding shrinkage rate have been considered in the mold size design, the shape of the SMC antenna reflective surface deviates from the original design parabola after molding, that is, the accuracy of the SMC molded antenna is completely guaranteed by the precision of the mold. . The RMS value of the SMC antenna molded integral reflection surface is 0.25 mm, and the RMS value of the single-piece reflection surface of the split antenna is less than 0.3 mm, and the RMS value of the reflective surface after assembly is less than 0.6 mm.

Conventional antenna materials such as aluminum plates and steel plates are made of metal materials, and are excellent in acid resistance, alkali, salt, and corrosion resistance, and are SMCs which are non-metal dielectric composite materials. The Pilkington laboratory in the United States used infrared to analyze the surface of SMC materials and found that its surface is covered by additives, resin, and very fine calcium acid filler. It has good acid resistance, water resistance, and corrosion resistance. The antenna reflection made by this material is solved. The disadvantages of traditional metal material antennas are easy to corrode. In coastal areas, rainy, humid areas and areas with excessive acid rain, the corrosion of SMC molded antennas is particularly prominent. The US company Podlin has conducted more stringent corrosion tests. The SMC molded antenna samples were placed in 130 highly corrosive chemical environments at an ambient temperature of 50 ° C. The results showed that the test samples showed little or no change.

long life
The average aluminum plate antenna is as small as 2-3 years in the coastal area, and more often 4-6 years. It is generally damaged by salt spray erosion and aging. The most obvious example is cable TV in Taiwan, which was built earlier than the mainland. It is estimated that there are nearly 1000 satellite TV receiving antennas on the island, which were all built in the mid-1980s. They are all aluminum plate antennas. They have been replaced since the early 1990s. This time, SMC molded antennas have been used. SMC molded antennas have been used. The service life is generally more than 15 years; the SMC molded antennas prototyped by P Company in 1985 are still working normally, and they are subject to typhoons and heavy rains every year.

Strong wind resistance

Reflective layer technology
The reflective surface of the SMC antenna uses a metal aluminum mesh as the reflection layer of the electromagnetic wave, and the aluminum mesh in the finished antenna is uniformly embedded under the surface SMC, which can reflect electromagnetic waves and insulate the atmosphere, and plays a good protective role.
